Cell meeting

Had a cell meeting last night. The group consisted of mainly children and their mothers. Eight of the children are living in the orphanage. The church now have a purpose built building where as previously was in the same building as I am staying in now above where pastor Gladstone and his family live. The orphanage is now where the church was. We held the meeting in their room. The only modification that has taken place to adapt from a church to an orphanage is bunk beds have been put in. There are no signs of toys and the walls have holes in them. Please don't think I think they are not being cared for I just think they do not have enough resources! The girls are well fed and seem very happy! They go to school 6 days a week and are either orphans or from single parent families and the mother can't cope. I would love to be able to decorate their room.

The meeting started by the girls singing some songs for us then Simon gave a talk about how we are all equal and equally loved by God and I was asked to say something. Then we prayed and sung some songs and Simon was asked to speak again and I was asked to speak again I could not speak too long as my voice going wish this cold would go! We sung some more songs then meeting ended in prayer.  The lady who looks after the orphans calked Lydia asked for specific prayer and me and simon prayed for her. The meeting took about 2 hours in total. I could really feel God in the meeting and was amazed by the way the children prayed with sincerity.

Thankfully the festival has finished so should be a little quieter. It culminated with a visit by the police. This is not a good part of town and Simon ssys some taxis refuse to come here. I say a little quieter because still very noisy as I said earlier motorists (mainly motorbikes) seem to toot horn for no apparent reason! Been awake since 630 as birds landing on roof just above my bed. Pidgeon pie for supper!
